10 Amazingly Ordinary Hacks That Can Generate Massive Success

Success is not something that can be attained by a select few. Everyone can be successful in all aspects of their lives. You simply need to know how to do things in such a way that you succeed every time. Success is the result of developing and maintaining certain habits. Consistency is essential. To be successful, you must be a certain type of person. Don’t be disheartened if you aren’t yet that person. Anyone, with enough practice, can become a successful person. A successful person thinks, talks, and acts in a particular manner. The list below summarizes ten of those methods (plus a bonus tip!). Anyone who applies these principles consistently in any area of their life *will* experience success in that area.

Vision

Have a clear vision of what you want to achieve or become. Keep this image in the forefront of your mind at all times. Doing something you want to do just for the sake of doing it will motivate you to succeed. Begin with the end goal in mind.

Belief

Have complete faith in your ability to succeed. Believe in your ability to succeed. Believe in a Higher Power who is assisting you in achieving your goals. Avoid negative influences (people, books/articles, or anything else that makes you doubt your ability to succeed). Surround yourself with reminders that you can and will succeed.

Responsibility

Recognize that you are solely responsible for your future. You are solely responsible for the results of your efforts. Look for no one to blame. Feel free to seek assistance as needed but remember that the final decision is yours. After all, it’s your life.

Affirm

Make it a habit to say aloud what you want to accomplish. Use the present tense, such as ‘I am fit and trim,’ rather than ‘I will be fit and trim.’ If it feels awkward to speak the affirmation aloud to yourself, write it down. Then go over it (or, better yet, rewrite it) several times a day. This allows your mind to remain focused on the goal. It also increases your self-esteem and confidence.

Commitment

Make a firm commitment to take action. Decide to take whatever steps are necessary to help you achieve your objectives. Then keep your end of the bargain. We often find it easy to keep our promises to others while failing to keep our promises to ourselves.

This pattern must be broken if you are to succeed in life.

Set a SMART goal

Once you’ve decided what you want to achieve or become, you must define it by making it a goal. Your goal must be Specific, Measurable (you need a standard to know when you’ve achieved it), and Motivational (it must inspire and motivate you), Attainable and Attractive, Realistic (there’s no point setting an unrealistic goal like “I want to be a millionaire this evening”), and Timed (State when you hope to achieve it).

Plan and Execute

Create a plan of action. Break the plan down into small steps. Take one or two steps every day, reminding yourself that each step brings you closer to your goal.

To achieve your goal, perform each act to the best of your ability, filled with faith, determination, and purpose. Most importantly, maintain consistency.

Persistence

Do not give up until you have obtained your goal. Be willing to change any part of your plan that doesn’t work and try something else along the way.

Despite having ‘failed’ 10,000 times, Thomas Edison did not give up on his quest to invent the light bulb. That is dedication! Consider each failure as both a stepping stone to success and a temporary setback. Learn from it and keep working toward your goal.

Gratitude

Maintain a grateful attitude, knowing that your dream is about to come true. Refuse to complain when circumstances appear to be against you. Refuse to whine. Be thankful for where you are and where you are going. Look for things to be thankful for. You’ll be surprised at how many there are.

Turn into a giver

Always think about what you can do for the other person in your relationships. What goes around must come around. After all, your dreams are likely to involve interacting with other people. Be generous and kind to everyone; you never know where your breakthrough will come from.

Bonus Principle: Keep up to date

Learn everything you can about your situation or goal. Read books, listen to tapes, and speak with experts if necessary. This will help you make wise decisions and maintain your confidence as you proceed.

That’s all there is to it. I’ve given you a summary of principles that, if followed consistently, will ensure your success in any endeavor. But don’t just take my word for it. Prove it to yourself by applying it to your own life situation.

Knowledge is useless unless it is put into action. Consider that. Even better, put it into action!

You’ll be happy you did.
